Problem Dog Behavior

The Learning Center for Dogs at Sunny Dog Place works with all types of breeds – large and small and helps owners to solve or manage all types of dog behavior. We employ a three-tiered approach. First we seek to understand the nature of the problem. Then we apply solution-oriented tools and techniques, followed-up by close supervision to monitor progress and ensure success.

While there are many approaches to dog training, we implement an ‘open toolbox’ style; we are experts in achieving the best dynamic for each training situation and offer practical solutions that work for your lifestyle. This adaptive approach helps us to stay open and flexible when bringing about desired change regardless of breed or temperament.

Our trainers and staff are very experienced and with the owner's commitment we can help improve the relationship between you and your dog.

  • Puppies, adolescent dogs and adult dogs can all benefit from training. Puppies should start a basic training program around the age of 4 months. Older dogs can also benefit from training to help curb undesirable behavior or learn the good manners they should have been taught earlier in life, but training is beneficial regardless of the dog’s age.

  • Socialization is an important part of our training program. Our cage-free facility allows under socialized or overly nervous dogs to be carefully integrated into a group setting with positive results.

  • We offer a Complimentary Training Evaluation (by appointment at our facility) performed by an experienced trainer to help you assess your dog's needs. We are constantly researching the latest training styles and methodologies to bring you the most effective, humane, positive training experiences that should provide lasting results.

All bootcamp or board & train dogs must first be evaluated by one of our trainers with the owner/handler present. Most of our Obedience Bootcamp programs run 14-21 days. Some behaviors including extreme anxiety or aggression may require a longer training program. The evaluation will determine the length of time your dog spends with us. There is no charge for the initial evaluation if done at our facility.
Please call us at: (310) 325-0070 to schedule your Training Evaluation.

We look forward to working with your and your dog. We at The Learning Center for Dogs, at Sunny Dog Place believe that the bond between dogs and owners is a very special one. Dogs have been mankind’s loyal companions for thousands of years, and we strive to strengthen that relationship using methods we know to be effective.
